Three injured in separate semi truck crashes near Deer Trail

DEER TRAIL, Colo. — Hazardous materials crews have been called after two crashes involving semi trucks occurred on westbound Interstate 70 near Deer Trail on Friday morning.

The accidents happened at milemarker 327. There was one moderate injury and two minor injuries.

The first crash involved a truck carrying liquid helium. The Colorado State Patrol said the truck was leaking some vapors, causing the call for hazmat teams.

One lane was closed but the other lane was open for traffic to get by.
