Three escape Fort Collins structure fire; three dogs die

FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- Three people safely escaped a structure fire early Monday morning, but three dogs died, the Poudre Fire Authority said.

The fire started about 5:45 a.m. in the 3000 block of Locust Street and left significant damage. It was brought under control about 6:20 a.m.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
