GILCREST, Colo. — Three people were arrested early Monday morning in connection to the deaths of two people whose bodies were found inside a burned-out truck in Weld County in October.
The truck was found upside down in a ditch at Weld County Roads 57 and 96 near Nunn on Oct. 18. An autopsy of the victims, later identified as Zachary Moore of Prague, Okla., and Joshua Foster of Muskogee, Okla., found they had been shot in the head before the truck was set on fire.
The Weld County Sheriff’s Office said a SWAT team was sent to a home in the 1200 block of Moore Drive in Gilcrest at 4:30 a.m. to serve warrants.
Samuel Pinney, 34, and Samantha Simmons, 27 were taken into custody for conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery, aggravated robbery, two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree murder after deliberation, second-degree arson, criminal mischief and two counts of abuse of a corpse. They are being held at the Weld County Jail.
A third person, Nathaniel Youngman, 26, was arrested April 8 and charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery. He is being held at the Weld County Jail.
During Monday’s arrests, Brian Coser, 58, was taken into custody on a parole violation.
