LAKEWOOD, Colo. -- A teenager was arrested this weekend on charges he deliberately set an apartment fire after a fight with his father on Friday, the Lakewood Police Department reported.

Jalen Berg, 19, is accused of starting the fire, which burned multiple units in an apartment complex at 5745 West Atlantic Place in Lakewood, police said. Investigators believe Berg was involved in a physical fight with his father in apartment No. 305, then set the fire as revenge shortly before 8 p.m.

Berg was being held Sunday on charges of first degree arson, multiple accounts of attempted murder, child abuse, felony criminal mischief and felony menacing.

Two people, including Berg himself, suffered minor injuries in the blaze.
