LITTLETON, Colo. -- The FOX31 Denver Problem Solvers are on the case of a hit-and-run involving a high school senior from Littleton. Her family is hoping someone might have witnessed the crash.

Bryana Buchanan was struck by a driver on April 18 around 11:30 a.m. near the entrance of the Shadow Ridge subdivision at South Taft Way and West Coal Mine Avenue.

The 18-year-old pulled over to check on her vehicle along West Coal Mine Avenue after it started making noises.

“Someone came by going into the neighborhood, hit me and left me unconscious,” Buchanan said.

Buchanan was knocked out for about 30 seconds before she woke up. She called a friend, who rushed her to the hospital. Buchanan only suffered a concussion and bruising to her side. She knows it could have been a lot worse.

“We very well could have been talking about a funeral now instead of this hit-and-run,” said Chase Oldenburg, Buchanan's stepfather.

Oldenburg and his wife went door to door in the area asking neighbors if they saw anything. No one has come forward. The only thing Buchanan remembers about the vehicle is that it's red. She believes it was an SUV or a truck carrying a camper.

“I find it sad that in this day and age that we live in now that personal accountability seems to be getting less and less and less,” Oldenburg said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Littleton police at 303-795-3875.
