BROOMFIELD, Colo. — A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the sexual assault of two 6-year-old girls at a Broomfield recreation center.

The Broomfield Police Department said the incident took place Nov. 5 at the Paul Derda Recreation Center (13201 Lowell Blvd.).

One of the victims’ mother told police that the girls had been approached and inappropriately touched by the suspect, police said.

A police investigation led them to the 17-year-old, who was arrested Thursday. Because of his age, he is not being identified.

The teen was booked into the Adams County Juvenile Detention Center on two counts of felony sexual assault on a child.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 303-438-6400.
