Suspect caught after running from scene of Thornton car crash

THORNTON, Colo. — Police arrested a man who fled the scene of a car crash Sunday evening.

Officers were in the area of East 136th Avenue and Washington Street searching for the suspect, who fled when troopers with the Colorado State Patrol attempted to pull over the vehicle, the Thornton Police Department said.

As he drove away, the suspect crashed into another vehicle, then ran from the scene, heading northbound toward the Thorncreek Golf Course.

By 9:15 p.m. police said the suspect was in custody, but they offered no further information.
