Suspect in Wheat Ridge shooting apprehended by U.S. Marshals

DENVER — A man wanted in connection with a shooting last week in Wheat Ridge was apprehended by U.S. Marshals on Wednesday.

Gregory Kilcollins, 29, was taken into custody in the 1800 block of South Alcott Street. He is being charged with attempted second-degree murder.

Kilcollins is accused of shooting a man at the Villa Victoria apartment complex near West 38th Avenue and Quail Street in the early-morning hours of Dec. 10.

The unidentified victim is expected to make a full recovery.

Wheat Ridge police recovered a gray Hyundai sedan believed to belong to Kilcollins the next day.

Kilcollins is being held at the Jefferson County Detention Center.
