AURORA, Colo. — Patients at Children’s Hospital Colorado got a super surprise Thursday morning, when SWAT team members dressed as superheroes appeared outside their windows.

The Aurora Police Department said they planned the event to “delight patients, families and staff — the real heroes at Children’s Hospital Colorado.”

Captain America, Batman, Iron Man, Superman and Spider-Man were among the heroes that showed up to make it a special day for the young patients.

Superheroes rappelled down the western-facing windows about 10 a.m. Thursday.

“A great example of one of our many community outreach efforts,” Aurora police said on Twitter. “We look forward to this every year!”

Patients, family members and staff smiled and waved to the superheroes from inside.
