ARAPAHOE BASIN, Colo. — It was an epic snow season at Arapahoe Basin, with enough snow falling to allow the resort to offer summer skiing. But there will not be July 4 skiing this year.

A-Basin announced that after being open for eight months, its last day of the 2013-14 ski season will be Sunday, the first full day of summer. The resort will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Summer begins at 4:51 a.m. Saturday.

A-Basin received more than 440 inches of snow and expanded its season with three bonus weekends into June.

“From our October 13 opening to the 6th Alley Bar & Grill remodel, to those extraordinary midseason powder days to the summer skiing — this has certainly been one of the most amazing ski seasons Arapahoe Basin has ever had,” A-Basin Chief Operating Officer Alan Henceroth said.

A-Basin said it will release its season pass and multiday lift ticket products for the 2014-15 season on July 1.

The latest A-Basin has stayed open was Aug. 10, 1995. It also was open for skiing on July 4 in 1993, 1995, 1996, 1997 and 2011. Last season, it closed on June 9.
