DENVER — The Denver housing market continues to get hotter and a survey released Wednesday morning puts it No. 3 in the top-selling markets nationally.

It’s great news if you’re selling a home and bad news if you’re looking to buy because prices are going through the roof.

The survey from Zillow shows home values in the Denver market have spiked by 14.3 percent since March 2014. That compares to a 3.9 percent increase nationally.

Denver only trails San Jose, Calif., and San Francisco when it comes to home selling.

The top five sellers’ markets in the Denver metro area are Sherrelwood, Northglenn, Thornton, Aurora and Welby.

The top five buyers’ markets in the metro area are Morrison, Evergreen, Castle Rock, Bailey and Broomfield.

Denver home values are expected to rise another 6.6 percent over the next year, according to the Zillow Home Value Forecast.
