Strong thunderstorms develop, Flash Flood Warning for Boulder County

DENVER — Passing thunderstorms dumped heavy rain in some locations along the Front Range and around metro Denver Monday afternoon.

A Flash Flood Warning was issued late Monday afternoon for the Four Mile burn area west of Boulder. Rain gauges there showed .70″ of rain fell in about 30 minutes beginning at 3 p.m. Residents were urged to be ready to leave if conditions required it.

The thunderstorms also brought gusty wind and lightning. They were forecast to end later Monday evening.

Similar weather was expected Tuesday.
