DENVER — Colorado Springs police have their hands full investigating several sexual assaults in the past week.
The most recent occurred on Wednesday around 11:30 a.m. in the 3900 block of East Bijou Street.
Officers interviewed the victim who said after answering a knock on her front door, an unknown male suspect forced his way into her home. The victim says she was knocked to the ground and sexually assaulted.
The suspect is described by police as a stocky Hispanic male, 5 feet, 7 inches tall. The victim reported her assailant having short “spiky” hair, blue eyes and brown teeth. She says he was wearing a blue shirt, blue jeans, and black Nike shoes.
Two other incidents took place on Monday, and police think all three are unrelated.
At about 12:30 a.m. on Monday police responded to a home invasion in the 4000 block of Westmeadow Drive.
The victim reported that two males entered her apartment without permission. While one male sexually assaulted her at gunpoint, the other burglarized her residence.
The victim said the man who sexually assaulted her was a black male wearing a black shirt, black pants, and a black beanie as, 5 feet, 5 inches tall, weighing about 150 pounds. No description was available for the second suspect.
Also on Monday, police responded to another report of a sexual assault that occurred about 11:15 p.m. in the 1200 block of Diamond Rim Drive.
The victim said she was in her backyard smoking a cigarette when a masked man hit her in the face and pushed her to the ground. The man then supposedly held a knife to her throat while removing her clothes and assaulting her sexually.
The man is described as wearing a black ski mask that completely covered his face, along with black gloves, a black shirt and black pants. The woman thinks her attacker was a white male, about 6 feet tall and weighing about 200 pounds.
