CHICAGO — A Chicago store owner used a baseball bat to fight back against two men who tried to rob him at gunpoint.

The Chicago Tribune reports two men walked into a gift store in Logan Square Tuesday afternoon and held up the store owner Luis Quizhpe and his brother-in-law.

Quizhpe grabbed a baseball bat and started fencing and hitting one of the two alleged robbers. Quizhpe was shot in the leg, but continued to battle the armed man.

The robbers eventually left and Quizhpe’s brother-in-law chased one of them down the street with a fire extinguisher.

One of the gunmen accidentally shot his partner identified as Cornell Mack, 53. Mack went to a local hospital claiming to have been shot in another area.

Police are still looking for the second robber.
