SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — A 16-year-old shot his friend with a shotgun after an argument over a paintball game, authorities said Friday.

Dalton Williams was found dead in the accused shooter’s house Tuesday night, reported the Associated Press. Paramedics rushed him to a local hospital, but the teen died of his injuries.

The accused shooter, whose name has not been released, will be charged as an adult, prosecutors said. He faces a charge of first-degree murder.

The boys were classmates at the local high school.

A witness said the two were wrestling around jokingly after arguing about a paintball game.

The witness said the accused shooter had been pointing the gun at several people and pulling the trigger. When Williams stepped in-between the victim and the shooter, the gun went off, said an arrest affidavit.
