AURORA, Colo. — The Smashburger restaurant chain apologized after complaints Saturday that employees played an anti-police song — on repeat — while an Aurora police officer ate there.
The incident happened at the store at Smoky Hill Road and South Aurora Parkway.
The Brotherhood for the Fallen Aurora posted the complaint about what happened on its Facebook page, saying the store was playing N.W.A’s “F*** Tha Police” on repeat while officers dined inside.
“First and foremost, we respect and value police officers and law enforcement officials,” the Denver-based chain said in a statement. “Any music other than our contracted music service is unauthorized in our stores and against policy during business hours.
“The manager on duty during this incident has been placed on investigative leave. We are gathering more information around this matter, which in no way reflects our values as an organization.”
