WESTMINSTER, Colo. — A man was shot in the parking lot of the KFC on Saturday night, the Westminster Police Department said.
The shooting at the corner of Federal Boulevard and West 92nd Avenue happened about 6:50 p.m., police said.
Police said the victim was sitting in a car talking to 30-year-old Thomas Flynn in the parking lot. During their interaction, Flynn pulled out a gun and shot the victim in the head one time, police said.
Flynn fled the scene, but he turned himself in at the Westminster Police Department around 12:35 p.m. Sunday, police said.
It is unknown what the motive was or if the two men knew each other. Police said the victim was conscious at the scene and transported to an area hospital.
