DENVER -- The University of Denver is on heightened alert after reports of a late-night sexual assault near campus Wednesday night.

The incident, described as "forcible fondling," happened near South High Street and East Wesley Avenue, the university said.

The suspect is not in custody. He was last seen heading west on East Wesley Avenue away from the campus, the university said.

The suspect is described as college aged, 6-foot with light skin. He was wearing a hat with flaps over the years.

Campus police are asking everyone to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity.

Earlier this month, a DU student was reported being drugged and raped.
