DENVER — A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle, the Denver Police Department said Sunday night.

The crash happened about 8 p.m. in the 4800 block of Pena Boulevard, near the Green Valley Ranch Boulevard exit.

Emergency crews responded to the crash that involved multiple cars. The pedestrian pedestrian was initially said to have suffered serious injuries but was later pronounced dead.

A secondary crash also happened at the crash scene but there were no injuries, police said.

Traffic was diverted to Green Valley Ranch Boulevard as crews investigated the crash.

The name, age and gender of the victim were not released.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
