DENVER -- A United Airlines flight from Newark, N.J., to San Diego was diverted to Denver International Airport on Wednesday night after the pilot reported "security concerns."

Flight 1243 departed Newark at 7:50 p.m. MDT and was scheduled to land in San Diego at 11 p.m. but was diverted to DIA at 9:30 p.m.

The plane landed safely and was parked away from the terminal, and all passengers were safely removed and bused to the airport gate.

After an inspection, no threats were found and "everything is safe," a DIA spokesman said.

Just after 11 p.m., passengers reboarded the plane and completed the flight to San Diego.
