DENVER — A second man was arrested Friday in connection with a series of bike thefts that occurred throughout downtown Denver between December 2013 and January 2014.

Police charged 55-year-old Victor Herrera with 16 counts of second-degree burglary and one count of possession of burglary tools Friday, according to Denver Police Department spokesperson Lynn Kimbrough.

The charges against Herrera allege that he participated in a slew of thefts between Dec. 1 and Jan. 31 that involved bikes being stolen from downtown residential apartment buildings, said police.

In several of these incidents, the suspects were seen on surveillance video riding the bicycles out of the building.

Last week, police arrested Drake Drubin, in the same string of burglaries.

Kimbrough added that Herrera was identified by an anonymous tip.
