DENVER -- A handful of popular Denver restaurants have been targeted by scammers in recent days.

They tell the owners that they're from Xcel Energy, and if they don't pay their bill immediately, power to their business will be shut off.

One owner was taken for $500 and he doesn't want it to happen to anyone else.
