DENVER -- A SWAT team was called to a west Denver home after a carjacking Friday afternoon.

Denver police surrounded a house in the 400 block of S. Irving St. Police say at least one and maybe three suspects took them on a chase that ended in the neighborhood.

Officers didn't evacuate anyone in the area, but they advised neighbors to stay inside. Neighbors say the area is kind of rough, and there seems to be a lot of activity and police presence regularly.

Police blocked off a 3-block area around the house while the standoff continued for several hours.

Eventually, officers entered the house and found it was empty. They did interview two people of interest, and continued a search for a suspect, but that search was being done outside of neighborhood where the standoff happened.
