DENVER — A 33-year-old woman faces attempted murder charges after she allegedly opened fire on a teenager who teased her.
The shooting happened about 8:45 p.m. in the 1100 block of Rosemary Street, police reported. Cherry Robertson told police a girl who lived in her apartment complex mocked her and tried to start a fight, so she drew a handgun and shot her in the shoulder, according to a Denver Police Department report. Robertson then chased the girl, intending to shoot her again, the report states.
The girl, reportedly between 13 and 15 years old, was treated for a gunshot wound to the arm. Her injury was not considered life-threatening.
Robertson was arrested minutes after police arrived on the scene. She was scheduled to appear in court Monday morning.
