DENVER — Personal information for about 19,000 Coloradans — including social security numbers — has gone missing.

The Denver Post reported the data was stored on a USB drive that was lost by a state employee while taking it between work stations.

The state sent a letter to affected people saying at present there is “no indication that this information had been misused or stolen.”

The USB drive went missing in November and it took some time for IT officials to identify whose information it contained.
