DENVER — Politico reports Al Jazeera plans to include Denver among the bureaus the international news network plans to open in the United States.

Al Jazeera executives have been touring the country ahead of the networks launch in America this year.

The satellite news network based in Qatar is planning 12 bureaus in all with more to open after the network’s launch.

According to Politico, they are: New York, Washington, Miami, Nashville, Chicago, New Orleans, Detroit, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle.

Al Jazeera announced in January that they would buy Current TV and launch an American news channel. It’s not yet clear whether the largest cable companies in the U.S., Comcast and Time Warner, will carry the new channel.
