Protecting yourself against skin damage in Colorado

Often when people think of sun damage they think of places like Arizona and Florida.  Colorado is not immune especially with our elevation and clear skies.  Neil Box from the Colorado Melanoma Foundation and an associate professor at the Dermatology department at the University of Colorado stopped by Good Day Colorado to show us how to properly protect ourselves.

He says the first line of defense is to cover up.  Wear a hat or find shade.  If you can't do that, he says sunscreen is a must.  There are a lot of options at the store so he says look for the following:

Broad spectrum SPF 30+
Look for Avobenzene, Titanium Dioxide or Zinc Oxide on the ingredients list
