Prince’s ‘Purple Rain’ to play at select AMC theaters next week

DENVER — AMC theaters will play Prince’s film “Purple Rain” at select locations to honor the music legend.

The 1984 film will play at a total of 87 AMC theaters across the country from Saturday, April 22, through Thursday, April 27.

In Colorado, there will be showtimes at AMC Highlands Ranch 24, AMC Westminster Promenade 24, and Carmike 7 Grand Junction, CO.

Red Rocks also announced that it’s adding a screening of “Purple Rain” to its Film on the Rock series.

Tributes to Prince have been pouring in from around the world after he was found dead at his estate in Minnesota on Thursday. A medical examiner is working to determine the cause of death.
