DENVER — Former Congressman Tom Tancredo submitted enough signatures to qualify for the June primary ballot, the Secretary of State’s office announced Wednesday morning.
There are seven GOP candidates for governor who can either qualify for the ballot by submitting 10,500 signatures or by receiving 30 percent support from party activists at this weekend’s state GOP assembly.
Tancredo submitted 16,634 petition signatures, and 13,158 were deemed valid.
The Secretary of State is still checking the 21,000-plus signatures submitted by Bob Beauprez, the only other GOP gubernatorial hopeful going the petition route.
The other candidates vying for support at this Saturday’s assembly are Secretary of State Scott Gessler, state Sen. Greg Brophy, former state Sen. Mike Kopp, businessman Steve House and Roni Bell Sylvester.
