DENVER – On the eve of the Republican National Convention, the Romney campaign is sending top surrogates and supporters on a four-day bus tour across Colorado, one of roughly 10 critical swing states set to decide November’s election.

The tour will begin Saturday morning in Fountain, just south of Colorado Springs, where the campaign will roll out a new group, “Veterans for Romney.”

Lt. Col. Orson Swindle, who shared a Vietnam prison cell with Arizona Sen. John McCain, will join Congressman Doug Lamborn at the kickoff event Saturday morning.

Neither Mitt Romney nor Congressman Paul Ryan, his running mate, will be in Colorado for the tour.

Romney is expected to be nominated Monday, on the first day of the RNC in Tampa Bay, Fla., but his address is still slated for Thursday, the convention’s closing night.
