LONGMONT, Colo. — Three victims sustained only minor injuries after their sedan collided with a semi truck Monday.

According to the Longmont Police Department, the 19-year-old male driver and 20-year-old male passenger were momentarily trapped underneath a FedEx semi truck on Highway 119 at Mill Village Court.

Crews were able to rescue the two and they were transported to Longmont United Hospital, said LPD spokesman Jeff Satur.

There was a third passenger in the back of the car, a 29-year-old female, he added. All three sustained minor injuries.

Carlos Gonzalez of Denver, 30, drove the FedEx truck.

Police said the intersection was clearly posted on the highway, and faulted Gonzalez for the accident. He received a ticket for careless driving.

Surveying the damage, Satur said, “The victims in the red car were very fortunate to only have minor injuries.”
