Police identify victim and suspect in Colo. Springs shooting

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A man was killed and a young girl injured after a shooting in Colorado Springs early Saturday.

At approximately 1:25 a.m. Saturday, officers from the Colorado Springs Police Department responded to 960 Chapman Drive on reports of gun shots fired, according to a Facebook post by CSPD.

When officers arrived on scene, they reported finding a injured female victim with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds and a deceased man.

Detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit later identified the victim as 26-year-old Christopher Jackson, a resident of Colorado Springs.

On Wednesday, at about 12:15 p.m., police said Dominic Daniels turned himself into authorities in connection to the crime.

No other suspects are being sought at this time, added police, but the investigation is still on-going.

CSPD asked anyone with information about the incident to contact the Pikes Peak Crime Stoppers at 719-634-7867. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
