CENTENNIAL, Colo. -- A man was shot to death outside an electrical supply store on Wednesday morning, the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office said.

The shooting happened about 10:45 a.m. outside QED Electric at 7000 S. Jordan Road, between East Fremont Avenue and East Briarwood Avenue. The body was outside the building, investigators said.

The suspect in the killing is at large.

"Obviously, we're concerned. We have someone out there with a gun that we suspect has shot someone and killed them," sheriff's spokeswoman Julie Brooks said.

Investigators said they don't know if the shooting was random or it involved a conflict between the victim and the gunman.

The suspect is a white man who was wearing a gray or white sleeveless T-shirt, jeans and a black cap, according to the sheriff's office. He has a large tattoo on his upper right arm.

Initially, investigators said he might have left the area in an older white sedan. Later in the day, they said the vehicle seen leaving area had been found and was not connected to the incident.

The name and age of the man who was shot have not been released. Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office.
