DENVER — One block of a downtown Denver street was closed Tuesday morning as officers searched for an auto theft suspect, the Denver Police Department said.

Glenarm Place was closed between 17th and 18th streets about 10:15 a.m. but reopened about an hour later.

A large police presence was set up and a police spokesman said officers chased a suspect into a parking garage, where they lost him.

A perimeter was set up during the search but was taken down about 11:20 a.m. Police said the suspect remains at large and the case remains an active investigation.

Police aren’t sure if the suspect is tied to an earlier vehicle armed robbery in the 1400 block of Delgany Street.
