DENVER — One person was shot at the Colonial Manor Motel late Tuesday night, the Denver Police Department said. Investigators said the suspect fled from the scene.

The motel is right along Interstate 70 just west of the Vasquez Boulevard exit. It’s visible from the elevated portion of the highway. The motel is in the 2600 block of East 46th Avenue.

A person said he was at the motel and said he heard gunshots, then saw the owner being taken away in an ambulance. That information was not confirmed by police.

Police did not have any additional information to release in the early stage of their investigation.
