Man fatally shot in Broomfield home, suspect in custody

BROOMFIELD, Colo. — A domestic-related incident left one man fatally shot in a Broomfield neighborhood on Saturday afternoon, the Broomfield Police Department said.

The incident happened in the 800 block of Lotus Way shortly after 2:30 p.m. An unidentified 54-year-old man died, police said.

A suspect was taken into custody that night, police said, he has been identified as 33 year-old Matthew Britton.

Britton was accused of first degree murder, felony menacing, domestic violence, and criminal attempt, according to authorities.

The victim’s identity will be released after an autopsy by the Adams County Coroner’s Office.
