Police looking for group who robbed couple, vandalized car

DENVER – Detectives in Lakewood are asking for the public’s help in locating four people involved in a robbery and assault.

According to police, the incident took place on July 26 at about 12:30 a.m. in the parking lot of Ray Ross Park at 680 S. Harlan Street.

A man and woman said they were standing outside their car when a white mini-van with dark tinted windows pulled into the parking lot. The couple said a man in the van talked to the couple for a brief time and then drove away.

Several minutes later the couple said the van reappeared, this time being driven by a woman in her twenties. Police said four men exited the van and confronted the couple, demanding they turn over any their wallets and cell phones.

Police said one of the suspects showed a handgun and then punched the the man. The woman was forced into her vehicle and three of the suspects began smashing the car windows, and took her  wallet, cell phone and car keys.

Following the attack, the men took off in the mini-van and were last seen heading north on Harlan St., according to police.

Police said the suspects are all Hispanic, with the first approximately 19-years-old, about 5 foot 6 inches tall and weighing 115 pounds. The second suspect is described as being in his 30’s with slicked-back black hair and a thinly trimmed beard and mustache. The third suspect is described as being 6 foot 1 inch tall, weighing about 245 pounds, with short brown hair and brown eyes. Additionally this suspect was wearing blue jeans, no shirt, with heavily tattooed arms, with a large “N” that is probably at least 12 inches tall tattooed on his chest. No description was given for the fourth male.
