DENVER — A University of Denver student was robbed at knifepoint by two female suspects.

According to DU’s Clarion, the Department of Campus Safety sent an email alert to students, faculty and staff Tuesday after an armed robbery was reported near campus.

The email alert said, at about 10 p.m., a student was robbed at knifepoint while walking in the 1900 block of S. High Street.

Two females suspects robbed her as they passed by her in a group heading in the opposite direction — there were two other men in the group.

DCS Sgt. Stephen Banet told the Clarion the victim heard some movement after the group passed her, which prompted her to turn around. One girl pushed the victim to the ground and brandished a knife, while the second suspect demanded the victim’s purse.

The victim did not sustain any injuries, and the two suspects fled the scene down High Street, said Banet.

The suspects were described as white females, between 16- and 18-years-old. One girl had a dumpy build with blonde hair, while the second suspect was described as having dark hair and wearing all black.

Banet said the Denver Police Department is investigating the crime in conjunction with DCS.
