BOULDER, Colo. — Police are investigating the death of 62-year-old Charles Dial, who was found near an entrance to the Boulder Transit Center at Walnut Street and Canyon Boulevard.

Investigators say he had suffered obvious, serious trauma and believe he was the victim of a hit-and-run. This happened Thursday night.

But they aren’t sure what hit him since they don’t have any witnesses to what happened yet. Police hope to find some witnesses.

RTD said Friday night that a bus driver has been put on investigative suspension, which is standard procedure if there is an investigation of a possible accident. The agency says the driver’s bus did go through the area the time of the accident.

Boulder police interviewed the driver and inspected the bus according to RTD.

RTD says if the bus was involved, the driver did not realize anything had happened. The driver is cooperating with police.
