DENVER — Authorities are investigating the death of a 7-month-old who they say had injuries that looked like shaken baby syndrome.

Leyton Haggard died Thursday morning at Children’s Hospital in Aurora.

Police in Windsor say they arrived at the home of an unlicensed child care operator on March 21. The infant was having difficulty breathing.

Windsor Police Sgt. Robert Shainline says the baby was taken to Medical Center of the Rockies and then later transferred to Children’s Hospital.

Shainline says Trina Loucks, 39, had four other children in her care at the time. Two of the children were hers.

The investigation into the baby’s death is ongoing.
