DENVER -- An explosion was reported inside a business in Denver Wednesday afternoon, injuring three people.

The incident happened just before 1 p.m. at 1241 S. Lipan Street in Denver's Ruby Hill neighborhood.

Firefighters said three people were burned in the explosion and sent to the hospital. The conditions of those people were not released.

Investigators say the explosion was likely the result of a marijuana edibles operation. It's unclear if the building owner had the proper permits for such an operation.
