Plane on fire reported in Longmont, arson investigators on scene

LONGMONT, Colo. — At 5:36 p.m., a caller reported a plane on fire at Vance Brand Airport in Longmont, according to police.

The plane is a single-engine Piper that had not been used in weeks.

It was tied down in its parking spot.

Police are looking for video and witnesses, and treating the fire as suspicious.

Arson investigators are also on scene.
