Two killed in plane crash northeast of Eaton in Weld County

WELD COUNTY, Colo. — Two people were killed when a plane crashed in Weld County on Tuesday morning, the Weld County Sheriff’s Office said. The crash happened near Weld County Road 80 and Weld County Road 43 about 11:30 a.m., about six miles northeast of Eaton. The two people on board the plane were pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the crash is unknown and a federal investigation involving the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board began late Tuesday afternoon. The names, ages and genders of the victims were not released. The Ault and Pierce Fire Departments responded to the scene.
