WESTMINSTER, Colo. – A pit bull that attacked a 10-year-old boy in Westminster on Monday will be euthanized, police said.

The victim was playing with a friend at that friend’s house in the 6200 block of West 92th Place when the dog knocked him over and bit him on the face and abdomen.

The dog’s owner, Cheryl Phillips, appeared in court Wednesday on a charge of harboring a vicious dog.

According to Westminster Police spokeswoman Cheryl Spottke, the pit bull, which is under quarantine at Foothills Animal Shelter, will be euthanized within ten days.
