DENVER -- Sunday night will be chilly, but a warming trend could push temperatures close to 70 by week's end.

"Monday will be seasonal with sunshine and highs in the lower 50s," KDVR meteorologist Nick Carter said. "There's a good warming trend for the rest of the week.  By Friday high temperatures will be near 70!"

Still, driving conditions in the near future remain less than ideal.

"Expect lots of melting snow today with high temperatures near 40 degrees," he said. "Gusty winds on the eastern plains caused snow to blow across I-70, making the interstate icy in spots. There have been numerous reports of accidents along the interstate due to the ice."

Monday will see a high around 50, with a steady increase through the week.
