DENVER — A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run near a bus stop on South Federal Boulevard early Tuesday morning, the Denver Police Department said.

Police responded just before 2 a.m. at Federal and West Harvard Avenue. The victim, 42-year-old Valentino Abeyta, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Federal was closed in both directions as the accident was investigated.

Denver police released a description of the suspect vehicle Tuesday evening.
