DENVER — A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Thursday morning, the Denver Police Department said.

The accident happened before 7:30 a.m. at East Alameda Avenue and South Clinton Street, west of South Havana Street.

The name, age and gender of the pedestrian were not released by police.

It’s not known if the driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene, but police did not describe the crash as a hit-and-run. Police did not say if there were any other injuries.

Westbound Alameda Avenue was closed at Clinton as police investigated. There was no estimate for when the road would reopen.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
