AURORA, Colo. — A person was found in an Aurora street and later died early Wednesday morning, and “the death appears to be suspicious,” the Aurora Police Department said.

Police said they responded to a call of an auto-pedestrian accident about 12:50 a.m. in the 700 block of North Havana Street.

When officers arrived, they found the victim lying in the street. The victim was taken to a hospital and was pronounced dead.

Police did not say if the person was a man or woman and did not know if anyone was with the person at the time of the incident.

The Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office will conduct an autopsy and notify next of kin before the victim is identified.

The intersection was closed for several hours as police investigated.

Anyone with information is asked to call Aurora police at 303-739-6106 or Metro Denver Crime SToppers at 720-913-7867.
