BRIGHTON, Colo. – One person had to be rescued from an island on the Platte River near Brighton on Sunday morning.
The person had to be rescued after camping on the island overnight, Brighton Fire Rescue said.
Officials said that due to the rain, water levels rose overnight leaving the person unable to get off the island without help.
Firefighters showed up and were able to safely rescue the person and their belongings from the island.
