DENVER — One person was arrested and five family members were displaced after a vehicle ran into a house early Friday morning, the Denver Police Department said.

The incident happened in the 2000 block of South Knox Court near West Evans Avenue about 2:30 a.m.

Police said 29-year-old Blaine Martinez was traveling eastbound on Evans Avenue when he lost control of the vehicle and hit the house.

Martinez was taken to a hospital to be treated for unknown injuries. He was arrested for investigation of driving under the influence and careless driving.

There was damage to the house, and power, gas and water lines were displaced. Red Cross Denver said five residents and a dog were displaced from the home, and the agency was assisting.
